M.Sc (Biotechnology)

A Master of Science or MSc is a graduate degree with a focus in science, medicine, or engineering. The MSc in Biotechnology combines two of these disciplines, focusing on biology and chemistry along with principles of design and engineering. The course is of special relevance to agriculture, medicine and food industry. The breakthroughs in modern biotechnology mainly include our ability to produce useful organisms through genetic engineering and cell fusion techniques and improve bio process technology to purify novel molecules generated by such processes. It also involves targeting drugs, development of delivery systems and vaccines. Considering this background, the syllabus focuses on diverse areas from Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, enzymology, animal and plant biotechnology and Genetics with significant laboratory practices which will enable the students to have hands on experience in doing experiments themselves. Biotechnologists can find careers with pharmaceutical companies, chemical, agricultural and allied companies. They can be employed in the areas of planning, production and management of bio-processing industries. After PhD, students get qualified for a job of a scientist, an officer grade rank in Govt. Sector or in management cadre in industrial sector.

M.Sc (Microbiology)

The scientific discipline of 'Microbiology' is one of the most critical components of modern day science. A basic understanding of microbial system is key to the development of other interdisciplinary areas of biological sciences such as biotechnology. The institute emphasizes on holistic approach where students are exposed to microbiology, immunology, physiology, microbial genetics, microbial physiology environmental sciences, plant and animal sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, bio instrumentation, bioinformatics and computer applications. Two year post graduation in Microbiology enables the candidates to fetch wide variety of career opportunities available in the field of Microbiology. Students can get employed in food processing companies, dairy industries, agricultural companies and pharmaceutical companies. They can work as quality control and quality assurance officers in various industries. Agricultural companies employ these graduates as agricultural microbiologists for various research purposes.

M.Sc (Organic Chemistry)

Organic Chemistry is a discipline within chemistry which involves the Scientific study of the structure properties, Composition, reactions and preparation of chemical compounds that contain carbon. and its other molecular s "Organic Chemistry came from the misconception that organic compounds were always related to life processes. Successful completion of the program brings eligibility to join Research laboratories, Industries, Chemical Industries Clinical laboratories, Research Areas of Chemistry etc...

M.Sc (Bio Chemistry)

Biochemistry is a branch of science which deals with the chemistry of living organisms and that of their biological processes. Biochemists study the structures and functions of enzymes, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, process of metabolism and the molecular basis of the action of genes. A basic understanding of biochemistry is central to all disciplines of biological sciences and hence provides multitude of career options such as medical sector, enzyme purification, agriculture, public health care diagnostic kits, forensic environment etc. Because of the nature of work there is a tremendous scope of research. Potential employer of biochemists include drug manufacturing companies, public health entities, blood banks, industrial laboratories, cancer research institutes, research Departments, educational Institutes, environmental pollution control, agriculture and fisheries, forensic science, hospitals, public health laboratories, cosmetic industries and quality control departments of almost all companies.
